NSW: Man charged with 42 counts of possessing child porn

SYDNEY, Aug 16 AAP - A 40-year-old man has been charged with more than 40 counts of
possessing child pornography, after police seized computer equipment on the NSW south
coast.

Police said the man, from North Nowra, was arrested and charged at Goulburn Police
station yesterday, following a raid on a home on May 18.

"The computer and related equipment was seized during the execution of a search warrant
at a North Nowra home," police said in a statement today.

"It will be alleged more than 10,000 images were located during a forensic examination
on computer discs and towers."

The investigation included officers from the Child Protection and Sex Crimes Squad
and Shoalhaven Local Area Command, as well as specialist computer forensic experts.

The man, who is facing 42 charges, was refused police bail and is expected to appear
in Parramatta Local Court today.
